Museum – sculpture, Oval with Points

I’m not sure how Sophie and Sadie got to the sculpture without walking on the grass – I also don’t know how they managed to climb it! Oval with Points, which this sculpture looks like, was done by the artist Henry Moore. It’s pretty big as you can see – and made of bronze. He wanted his art to be outside for people to enjoy (although probably not climb on!) instead of in museums. Can you see where the points […]

Museum – sculpture, The Dancer

I bet Sophie is pretty surprised to find a statue in the museum looks just like her! Sculptures can be made out of all different kinds of materials – wood, metal, ceramic, ice, fabric. They can be any size from tiny to huge. This statue looks like a famous statue by Edgar Degas called Little Dancer. He originally made the statue out of wax – and later 28 copies were made out of bronze. Click on the image below, or […]

Turkey

It’s almost Thanksgiving – which is all about turkeys. Even if you don’t eat them! One of the ways to tell a boy turkey from a girl turkey is by looking at their poops! Boy poops look like spiral coils and girl poops look like the letter J! Click on the image below, or click here, to open the coloring page, then download, print, and start coloring!

Tickets at the museum

There are so many kinds of tickets! Tickets to get on the bus, raffle tickets, movie tickets, traffic tickets, lottery tickets, parking tickets, theater tickets, and tickets to get into a museum, just to name a few! Sometimes you have to pay for the tickets and sometimes you don’t. These have a tear off part at the top so the museum can keep a part to know how many people saw the exhibit and Sophie and Sadie can keep the […]

Turnstiles at the museum

Sophie and Sadie are visiting a museum. All museums want to know how many people visit – some have people with number clickers at the entrance and others use turnstiles like these. You’ll find all different types of turnstiles in all different places – but they were originally invented for farmers who needed a way that they could leave the pasture and their animals couldn’t follow them (and couldn’t go off on adventures of their own!). Click on the image […]

Off to the museum!

Sophie and Sadie are off to the museum! Museums are such amazing places – so much to see, so many different kinds, so much to do…what a gift! I wonder what they will find in this museum… Click on the image below, or click here, to open the coloring page, then download, print, and start coloring!

Pumpkin picking

Looks like Max found the pumpkin he wants. He’s pretty strong! Although the biggest pumpkin is about the size of a full sized Polar bear, so in comparison it’s pretty small. Click on the image below, or click here, to open the coloring page, then download, print, and start coloring!

Pumpkin

It’s definitely pumpkin season – pumpkins pumpkins everywhere. Pumpkins come in different colors – orange, of course, and also red, green, white, and yellow.  They can grow pretty big – this one is just the perfect size for Sadie to rest against. Building a hut

I actually think that they are building a fort – but they told me it’s a hut, so that’s what we’re calling it. It is pretty amazing how we can make places to stay safe and warm and dry out of just about anything. Max just moved into the neighborhood – they all seem to be cooperating and are certainly doing a good job building the hut! Apple cider

Sophie is working hard making apple cider. It takes 36 apples squeezed through the apple press to make one gallon of apple cider. Sadie must be tired from picking apples! Click on the image below, or click here, to open the coloring page, then download, print, and start coloring!
