Pie Contest

Sophie and Sadie are off to the county fair – and I’m not surprised that they found the pie contest, but I am a little concerned that they are going to get in trouble for eating the pies! What’s your favorite flavor of pie? Did you know that in the 1600’s eating pies was against the law in England because people enjoyed it too much!? Monarch butterfly

There are so many interesting things to learn about Monarch butterflies! Did you know they can fly up to 2,000 miles to spend the winter in Mexico? They can even fly all the way across the Atlantic ocean! But when it comes time to lay their eggs, they fly to North America and look for Milkweed plants. The caterpillars (before they turn into butterflies) can eat a whole leaf off the Milkweed plant in less than 4 minutes! Click on […]

Lemonade Stand

I know that it’s summer when I see lemonade stands popping up! I don’t know about where you live, but where we live it’s really hot and lemonade is the perfect drink to cool down. There is evidence that people were drinking lemonade in Egypt a long time ago (1500 years ago!) – which I can understand…it’s really hot there! I’m wondering if Sadie is going to drink all of the lemonade! Click on the image below, or click here, to open […]

Happy Birthday Number Four!

Yay – we’re four years old! Well, the website is and I’ve been putting up coloring pages almost every Thursday (except for major holidays) every week. Thanks for following our adventures! Did you know that cupcakes really used to be baked in cups!? Click on the image below, or click here, to open the coloring page, then download, print, and start coloring!

Banana Split!

We’ve been doing a lot of exploring of the museum – and it’s time for a snack! Did you know that almost all of the bananas that we eat are clones of each other?! There are over 1,000 different kinds of bananas, but only a few that taste good enough to eat – even covered with ice cream, sauce, and whipped cream! I’m glad Sophie and Sadie are such good friends they can share so nicely! Click on the image […]

Pumpkin

It’s definitely pumpkin season – pumpkins pumpkins everywhere. Pumpkins come in different colors – orange, of course, and also red, green, white, and yellow.  They can grow pretty big – this one is just the perfect size for Sadie to rest against. Apple cider

Sophie is working hard making apple cider. It takes 36 apples squeezed through the apple press to make one gallon of apple cider. Sadie must be tired from picking apples! Click on the image below, or click here, to open the coloring page, then download, print, and start coloring!

Apple picking

It’s apple picking time where we live! Sadie must be picking apples from a dwarf (shorter) apple tree since she’s pretty short. What do you think she’s going to do with them? One other fun fact about apples – the Chinese word for apple is pronounced ‘ping’ which also means peace. cornfield

Walking through a cornfield is so cool!  The corn this time of year is really tall and it makes a beautiful music as the wind goes through it. It also has a lovely smell. Did you know that there is corn grown on every continent in the world except for Antarctica?! Bonfire with marshmallows!

Yummy! Toasted marshmallows over a bonfire – the best!  Did you know that 1/2 of all marshmallows are toasted over bonfires? The ancient Egyptians were eating marshmallows over 4,000 years ago – I wonder if they roasted them, too!?
