Black bears!

The other day while I was walking in the woods, I ended up talking to a little boy who excitedly told me he had seen a bear on his walk and I excitedly told him I had seen one too and we were both so excited that we had someone to tell who believed us that we walked away happily. Since there are only 50 black bears in the entire state of Ohio, I think we both probably were dreaming […]

Turkey

It’s almost Thanksgiving – which is all about turkeys. Even if you don’t eat them! One of the ways to tell a boy turkey from a girl turkey is by looking at their poops! Boy poops look like spiral coils and girl poops look like the letter J! Click on the image below, or click here, to open the coloring page, then download, print, and start coloring!

Ducks in a row

Something a little different this week. I was wondering what ducks would wear if they could get dressed up. What do you think? Click on the image below, or click here, to open the coloring page, then download, print, and start coloring!

daffodils

Such a fun flower to see after a dark winter – who doesn’t love daffodils?  And baby sheep? Click on the image below, or click here, to open the coloring page, then download, print, and start coloring!

Buffalo

I learned a lot about buffalo!  It turns out what we call buffalo in America are actually Bison.  Buffalo are in Africa and Asia.  And their horns look like question marks! Click on the image below, or click here, to open the coloring page, then download, print, and start coloring!

Owls

There are over 150 different kinds of owls in the world! These owls that Sophie is seeing right now are Great Horned Owls. There are owls on every continent except for Antarctica! Click on the image below, or click here, to open the coloring page, then download, print, and start coloring!

Zebras

Something a little different – when I think of zebras lately I’ve been imagining them with waves of heat around them.  Isn’t it so cool that zebras like being near each other – and that is part of what protects them.  All of the stripes together make it very confusing for any animal that would want to eat them! Lion

Lion’s are called the king of the jungle – but they actually don’t even live in the jungle!  They live on the plains and grasslands, which might be part of how their roar can be heard from so far away. Sophie and Sadie have a pretty cool place to watch the lions from up in the sky! Click on the image below, or click here, to open the coloring page, then download, print, and start coloring!

Rhinoceros

Rhinoceros – also called rhino – are one of the ‘big 5’ on a safari.  Everyone wants to see them – so it’s super cool that Sophie and Sadie get to see one pretty close up! Click on the image below, or click here, to open the coloring page, then download, print, and start coloring!

Giraffe

Our friend is on a safari in Africa and we decided to join along (in spirit!).  My favorite memory from the safari that I went on years ago were the giraffes.  They were amazing!  I wonder what Sophie is looking at?  What do you think?
