Elevators have been around for a long time – but they weren’t always powered by electricity! In the ancient Roman Colosseum, there were 24 elevators that were powered by slaves pulling ropes. Where do you think Sophie and Sadie are going? That’s a pretty big door! Not as big as the one in Florida at the NASA Kennedy Space Center. Seeds for growing new trees grow in the pine cone. They start off soft and green and sticky and then grow into hard brown cones to protect the seeds.
