Black bears!

The other day while I was walking in the woods, I ended up talking to a little boy who excitedly told me he had seen a bear on his walk and I excitedly told him I had seen one too and we were both so excited that we had someone to tell who believed us that we walked away happily. Since there are only 50 black bears in the entire state of Ohio, I think we both probably were dreaming – but that’s okay. Looks like Sadie found one!

Black bears are only found in North America. They have short claws that make it really easy for them to climb trees. Even though their called black bears, they actually come in different colors like brown, cinnamon, blond, and white.
